Elena Shumilova

Parenting is essential to children. Many copy and paste the words "invest your time, not your money in your children".

Photographers worldwide with families know how hard it is to (sometimes) say no to a photo gig and spend some time with your children.

Elena Shumilova, a russian photographer and mother, managed like many others to combine the two. But she translated this mash up in a very painterly manner.

For those familiar with these terms, dodge and burn have never been so amazingly put to work. It's hard to understand the way she processed the images. If anyone out there is familiar with these techniques, that is Aad Sommeling. They are discussing this very moment the possible post editing processes used. Check it out here(only if you are a registered facebook user and member of the group).

The animals belong to her farm and the children you see in the pictures are her sons.

“I largely trust my intuition and inspiration when I compose photos. I get inspired mainly by my desire to express something I feel, though I usually cannot tell exactly what that is” Shumilova explained to BoredPanda.
